Thank you to all the parents who took the time to complete our questionnaire a month or two back.
Your feedback and opinions are important to us as it allows us to make improvements where necessary and also to give positive feedback to the staff – which is always a nice thing for them to hear!
Overall Results
97% of you agreed that their child had a good experience at the nursery, with most parents agreeing that the day rooms at Sunny Days were welcoming and well decorated and there is a good range of toys for their child to play with. Comments included:
“A very homely atmosphere”
There were also many positive comments on outdoor space. The questionnaires were completed before the contractors had finished the work on the garden, we would hope that you have all now seen the finished garden and are happy with it. The staff are delighted as it gives the children so much opportunity to explore and learn. If you have not seen the garden please ask a member of staff who will show you and explain how the children now continue to learn through play outside.
Staff
97% of parents made very positive comments about the staff. We believe this is a strong endorsement from you on a key element of childcare. Such positive feedback is a reflection of the investment Sunny Days makes in training and supporting its staff, to provide the highest quality of childcare. We know that drop off and pick up can be a rush for parents so intend to put staff name cards with photographs of staff on a board outside the room they are working in. This is in response to some comments from the questionnaire about staff names – let us know if this helps.
“Staff are always friendly and enthusiastic”
Other Areas
Overall the food was very highly rated with 96% of parents happy with the food offered and the menus set.
“A always enjoys her lunch and often has seconds”
We were happy to see that most parents were happy with the learning journey file and confirmed they had seen it. If you have not seen your child’s file recently, please do let us know and we can take the time to talk you through it.
Communication with Parents is an area that you think we can most improve on, with ⅔ of you wanting more information and more parents’ evenings. We will address this by looking at introducing parents meetings at different times of the day and introducing more dates during the term. We also took on board your comments about not having time to read the notice boards at the nursery and so are working on the news page on our web site to allow the manager to post newsletters and information every day if she needs to.
Once again, thank you for all your feedback – it is an important way of ensuring we are delivering the very best childcare.
If you have any further suggestions or comments please do not hesitate to let Kerry know.
